STEPHEN DAY RESUME

Professional Work: Stephen Day is an architect, land use/real estate attorney and developer based in Seattle. He is a founding member of Madrona Architecture PLLC and of the Real Property Law Group PLLC, a group of professionals working together to assist a wide variety of clients in the development of buildings and properties. These combined professions in the fields of architecture and law provide a broad range of experience regarding complex mixed-use development, development of historic landmark properties and commercial and residential properties. His clients and collaborators include individuals, development companies, development lenders, municipalities, historic tax credit investors and nonprofit developers of affordable housing. Past development involvement includes mixed use projects and National Register landmark redevelopment.

Stephen has written and lectured on historic properties redevelopment and historic properties tax credits in conferences organized by the Washington State Bar Association and the American Planning Association.

Recent Development Projects include: The Arctic Club Hotel, a $28,000,000 mixed use hotel project in Downtown Seattle, completed in 2008. Stephen led the ownership team in the early project analysis and acquisition of the historic landmark through a competitive request for proposals process that concluded with his team’s selection over ten competing development teams. He then worked closely with City of Seattle officials and other development team members in the feasibility analysis, design process, Landmarks approvals, historic tax credits negotiations, financing and permit issues involved in this complex historic redevelopment project.
