CASCADE HIGH SCHOOL
Owner: Everett School District
Architect: Dykeman Architects
The Cascade High School design revolved around a concept based on the high school’s namesake - the Cascade Range. References to the natural environment of the Cascades, which can be clearly seen from the school, included an undulating roofline emulating the foothills, tilted roof planes emulating geologic upthrust, tilt-up concrete panels formed with outlines of the Cascade mountains, foothills, lowlands, and a wooded bosk bus plaza.
Participation on the design team of Dykeman Architects, 1996 – 97, for the Cascade High School modernization was a special treat for Nancy: this school is her alma mater. Project costs were $21 million.
